Picky Eaters

I have an 18 month old who is a SUPER picky eater. I feel like I am constantly trying to come up with new things to feed her for breakfast, lunch and snacks. Does anybody have some good mealtime and snack suggestions for kids? Ideas on how to get a picky eater to try foods they don't want to eat?

aria was a really good eater for me, so sorry, i don't have any advice. but my friend megan has a super picky eater and has been for a while now...he's 3.5! so i'll ask her and she if she has any suggestions.

My kids love spaghetti noodles with butter and grated mizithra cheese. Mizithra is hard to find, but any cheese would work. I think they like the challenge of getting the whole noodle into their mouth. Another thing that works with Taina is to tell her she only has to take one bite, then she usually likes it and eats more just cuz she wants to.

Audrey usually eats what I put in front of her, so I don't really know how to deal with picky eaters (I'm sure I'll be blessed with my next one)...

An idea I thought about adding is how to save money on groceries. It's not directly a parenting topic, but I think it relates. I'll be checking back! LMK if you need another secret Mommy - it would be fun to participate!

Great idea Katherine! In fact it is VERY similar to a blog my friend from when we lived in Logan started that I am actually an author for :) You can check it out for ideas and such at villageformoms.blogspot.com
It will be undergoing some changes with the header, background, and button soon but you'll get the idea :)

Katherine,

If she will eat spaghetti, I would often puree carrots, broccoli, spinach, etc. into the marinara sauce to get some veggies into my kids when they were little. Another idea is add different fruits into smoothies or a milkshake to get some fruit that they may not like otherwise...some people I know use a juicer to juice veggies and fruits and put into juices or soups. You can make a popsicle with carrot juice and orange juice combined. Not as much fiber in these things, but if she will eat toast or something with fiber then you should be ok!
